Whether you want to rent out a cabin, apartment, a cottage, or your permanent residence for the first time or have done it for several years, we help you simplify the process for both you and your guests. Instead of letting the home stand empty when you are not using it, you can rent out everything from the whole house to a room or an accessory dwelling unit to cover running costs or earn extra money during all seasons of the year.
Most are families looking for holiday accommodation during summer, winter, and school holidays. We also have many retired couples, groups of friends, and business travelers looking for accommodations of various sizes. In addition to local guests, we have many visitors from Germany, Denmark, and other European countries. Thanks to international holiday periods, your cabin can be booked well into October.
It is simple and safe to post your ad with us. All initial contact takes place via our messaging function, which means you don’t have to give out your contact details until you want to. Unlike other services, we take 0% commission and you keep the entire rent yourself. You decide entirely who is allowed to rent and during which periods. Payment is handled directly between you and the guest without intermediaries. A tip to increase your bookings is to also share your ad via social media like Facebook or Instagram.
Look at similar accommodations in your area and compare size, location, and pricing to get an idea of the market. Consider whether you want different prices for high and low season, and if you want to offer rentals per night or weekend. Be realistic and ensure the rent corresponds to the accommodation’s standard, as guests place higher demands on more expensive options. You can correct your prices in your ad at any time.
The factors that primarily govern the price are the size of the accommodation and the number of beds, its standard, and whether it is newly renovated or unique. Amenities such as WiFi, sauna, pool, or access to a boat also play a major role. Finally, the location, such as proximity to the sea or ski lifts, as well as where in the country the property is located, affects the price.
Since we do not act as an intermediary for money or bookings, you and the guest handle the entire process and payment directly between yourselves. We recommend that you are clear about rules regarding cleaning and equipment, as well as sharing local excursion tips to create a good guest experience. To avoid misunderstandings, you should maintain direct and pleasant communication with your guests, but if necessary, our support is available to answer questions.
It is important that you as a homeowner have your own valid insurance for your accommodation, as CroatiaSun takes no responsibility for damage or loss during the rental. Unlike services that include external cabin insurance, the responsibility lies entirely with you and your guest to ensure that you have adequate protection. Always check with your insurance company what applies specifically to renting to private individuals.
Bed linen and towels The most common is for the guest to bring their own, but you can offer it as an option for an extra fee. Always confirm in advance so the guest knows what applies.
The cost of electricity and water Usually this is included in the rent, but for longer rentals, you can charge an extra fee if it is clearly stated in your ad and in your agreement.
Consumables and firewood It is much appreciated if there are starter kits with toilet paper and detergent, as well as some spices or firewood for the stove. Also, make sure cleaning equipment is easily accessible.
Pets and smoking Be clear in the ad if animals or smoking are allowed, especially considering allergy sufferers. Please specify where smoking may take place.
Fire safety Make sure there are working smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and fire blankets on site, as well as extra batteries for the guest to change if necessary.
Trash and recycling Leave clear instructions for waste sorting and directions to the trash house, including any codes. Please put in a new trash bag before each new guest.
Neighbors and extra guests Feel free to inform the neighbors about the rental and be clear in the communication about how many people may stay in the accommodation as well as your rules regarding parties.
Personal belongings Put away very personal items and valuables so that the guest has plenty of space for their own clothes and belongings.
Popular amenities Good beds, dishwasher, WiFi, and a patio with a grill are factors that are often requested and should be highlighted in your ad.
A warm welcome Feel free to leave a welcome note, a folder with instructions for the house, and tips on local excursions. A guest book where visitors can give each other tips is also very appreciated.
As an owner, you have complete control over your rental: it is you who decides both the rent level and which time periods the cabin should be available. There are no requirements that you must rent out a certain number of weeks or during specific parts of the year. You choose which guests you want to welcome, and when a booking occurs, the agreement is written directly between you and the tenant.
Getting started is easy: you create your ad with photos and text, and as soon as it has been reviewed, it begins to be shown to visitors. Right now, registration is completely free, and unlike other services, we take 0% commission – so you keep the entire rental amount yourself.
